Lungs in Motion

3D Animation

Project Objectives:
The objective of this project is to create an accurate 3D animation that visually demonstrates the human breathing process. The animation showcases realistic lung expansion and contraction, paired with directional arrows that clearly illustrate the flow of oxygen into the lungs and the movement of carbon dioxide out of the body.

Research & Ideation

The project began with studying the human respiratory system and visual references to ensure anatomical accuracy. Rough sketches explored ways to clearly show lung movement and airflow, creating an effective and understandable animation.

3D Modelling

In this phase, the lungs and associated structures were modeled in 3D with careful attention to anatomical accuracy. Shading techniques were applied to depict healthy lung tissue, emphasizing texture and depth to make the model visually realistic.

Post production

The 3D animation was refined with lighting, color adjustments, and the addition of directional arrows to clearly show oxygen entering the lungs and carbon dioxide exiting, creating a clear and engaging visualization.
