DTC Promotional Animation

2D/3D Animation

Project Objectives:
The objective of this project is to create a one-minute promotional animation that highlights Design’s That Cell’s work and showcases selected portfolio pieces in a visually engaging way. By combining 2D and 3D assets, motion graphics, and voiceover, it communicates the brand’s message clearly.

Storyboarding & Script

The first phase focuses on research and the development of the script and visual structure of the animation. Storyboarding is used to plan timing, composition, and transitions, shaping a clear and cohesive narrative before production.

3D Modeling & Animatic

Since this animation combines 3D and 2D elements, this phase focuses on creating 3D assets and producing an animatic to preview a low-fidelity version of the animation and identify what works and what doesn’t. Tools used include Blender, After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator.

Compositing & Production

This phase focuses on combining 2D and 3D assets in After Effects, adding motion graphics, effects, color grading, and final compositing, bringing all elements together while refining timing and enhancing visual cohesion for the final animation.
