Project Objectives:

This personal project focuses on creating detailed and visually engaging illustrations of chronic diabetes complications, including effects on the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels. The project aims to improve understanding of these long-term complications while allowing me to explore and refine my medical illustration style, develop new techniques, and upskill in visual communication for educational and professional purposes.

Research & Ideation

I researched chronic diabetes complications and visual references to develop clear medical illustration concepts. This helped me explore styles and define an effective visual approach for complex information.

Composition & Rendering

I focused on arranging elements to create clear, balanced compositions that guide the viewer’s eye. Rendering emphasized clarity, color coding, and detail to communicate the complex effects of chronic diabetes complications effectively.
