2D Animation

Project Objectives:
The objective of this project is to create a 2-minute animation that introduces the Canadian BioGenome Project to graduate-level science students and researchers, presenting complex concepts in an engaging, accessible way and encouraging broader engagement beyond expert audiences.

Developed as a team Capstone project in the BMVC program, emphasizing collaboration, research translation, and visual storytelling.

Research & Storyboarding

This phase focuses on understanding the project brief, defining the problem statement, and establishing the rules of play. User personas help clarify the target audience, followed by script development and storyboarding to shape the narrative before production.

Asset Development & Testing

This phase focuses on storyboard revisions, animatic creation, and asset development. Extensive user testing is conducted to evaluate clarity, pacing, and overall effectiveness before moving into the next phase.

Animation & Rendering

In this phase, the final animation is created, integrating all assets, motion, and effects. Transitions, timing, and visual flow are refined to ensure the animation meets project objectives, followed by rendering and preparation for delivery.
