Anatomy of Qualitative Research

Editorial Journal Cover

Project Objectives
This project was created for a competition to design the cover of the Anatomical Sciences Education Journal, themed “The Anatomy of Qualitative Research”. The goal was to challenge the misconception that qualitative research is less rigorous, and instead highlight how Qualitative Research approaches like interviews, observations, and Focus groups reveal the human experiences behind anatomy and healthcare education.

Research & Ideation

This project began with research into the theme “Qualitative Research” and an exploration of how to visually represent its human-centered nature. I developed sketches and mood boards to experiment with composition, symbolism, and concept.

3D Modeling

In Blender, I assembled 3D models to represent the key concepts, experimenting with different human demographics and introducing gender diversity through color choices. I refined the lighting and perspective to enhance depth and focus, creating a composition that communicates the theme.

Composition & Rendering

Final adjustments were made using a combination of Blender and Photoshop for example, adding the qualitative research approaches to the microscope body and refining the overall layout for print-ready design.
